Main Description

The objective of this task is to complete handover of services to the Service Delivery Organization. All the outputs from the Knowledge Exchange activities should be reviewed to ensure completeness of the Knowledge Exchange.

The Knowledge Exchange Lead must ensure all artifacts or deliverables required for the service delivery have been catalogued and moved to the identified knowledge repository. All the stakeholders should be communicated /informed about the repository location and should be provided with necessary access to use the knowledge repository.

Typically, handover of services to the Service Delivery Organizations should ensure that the delivery team is comfortable in owning the services and taking it ahead. Any glitches identified during the handover must be resolved and documented. It is recommended to share the important points to be kept in mind by the Service Delivery Teams for successfully running the critical services post go-live and maintaining the stable state of services throughout.

Successful handover considerations should include:

  • Service Delivery Organization can use the service effectively and efficiently for their business activities
  • Service Owners and Process Owners are committed to manage and operate the service in accordance with the service model, performance standards and processes
  • Service delivery is managed and controlled across any service provider interfaces
  • Confirmed Knowledge Exchange activities and trainings are completed by obtaining positive confirmation from the Knowledge Exchange Recipients. This may be in the form of competency tests
  • The service release, Service Level Agreement, other agreements and any contractual deliverables are signed-off.

It is possible in some transitions, that the handover commences a little earlier. However, it will always need to conclude by the end of this phase.
